An idea I've had for quite some time, sketched it out and started working on it more than a year ago but never got anywhere with it, until now. I wanted to create an image with photographs and digital painting techniques.

I used the sketch as a guide and began compositing various photographs to build up the scene. I painted in elements using standard and custom Photoshop brushes. The vehicles were mostly painted, but also had photographic elements, which included the characters.

This was mostly an exercise in creating an illustration using matte painting techniques. I'm not too sure whether or not I'm happy with it, time will tell, but I do know that my next image will be a lot better, hopefully I've learned a few lessons from creating this image.
